Cut to fit your window
Order the size above your opening and trim it down with scissors or a blade. Nothing is measured to order and nothing is made to wait for.
DIY magnetic and hook and loop insect screens for windows, magnetic screen doors that close behind you, and swatters for the few that still get in. Cut to fit your own opening, with no drilling.
Every screen here is one you fit yourself and cut to your own opening. No drilling, no tradesman, and nothing left behind on the frame when it comes off again.
Order the size above your opening and trim it down with scissors or a blade. Nothing is measured to order and nothing is made to wait for.
39" x 39" up to 78" x 78", in white, brown or black frame. Doors run 15 sizes from 27.5" to 70.8" wide, in black or white.
A window screen holds on a self adhesive magnetic strip that goes round the frame. A door screen fixes to the frame itself. Neither needs a drill.
It lifts off at the end of summer without marking the frame, which is the part that matters if you are renting.
Standard grey for flies and mosquitoes, midge mesh in black for the small biting ones, and a heavier pet proof mesh that stands up to claws.
A leather swatter, a five pack of plastic ones, an electric racket, a table fly fan, and repair tape for a screen that has been caught.
Six openings, and the screen that suits each one.

At Magnetic Screens Company we sell insect screens you fit yourself, right across the USA. This page is the short version of what we have learned selling them: which screen suits which opening, how to measure, and what each mesh is actually good at.
It is a panel of insect mesh in a light PVC frame, held to your window by a magnetic strip. The self adhesive half of that strip goes around the window frame, the other half is on the screen, and the two hold together. It comes with every kit.
You cut the screen down to your own opening, so one of five stock sizes covers most windows. Nothing is drilled and nothing is screwed on, and at the end of summer the strip lifts off without marking the frame. That last part is why it suits a rental.
We sell three kinds of window screen and they are not interchangeable.
Magnetic window screens are the ones most people want. They come away at a touch and snap back, so a window you open every day stays easy to use.
Hook and loop screens are the cheapest way to screen a window and the easiest to move to another one. They hold on a tape edge rather than magnets, so they are a little more effort to open and a lot easier on the budget.
Cat proof window mesh is a heavier weave on a hook and loop edge. It is there so a window can stand open with the cat safely inside.
Standard mesh is grey, woven from vinyl coated glass yarn at 18 x 16 threads to the inch, and it stops flies and mosquitoes. Midge mesh is a finer black weave for midges and the smaller biting insects, and it is what our screen doors ship with. Pet proof mesh is heavier again and stands up to claws.
Measure the opening you want to cover, then order the size ABOVE it and cut the screen down. Our window sizes run 39" x 39", 39" x 59", 59" x 59", 59" x 78" and 78" x 78".
If you fall between two sizes, take the larger one. A screen you trim fits; a screen that is slightly short leaves a gap down one side, and a gap is the whole problem you are trying to solve.
A magnetic screen door is a pair of mesh curtains held shut down the middle by a line of magnets, fitted to the door frame rather than the wall. You walk at it, it opens, and it closes behind you. Fifteen sizes run from 27.5" to 70.8" wide, in black or white, and it takes about ten minutes to put up.
For a doorway walked through all day, a chain curtain or a string curtain lasts better than mesh. Neither seals the way mesh does, so treat them as a doorway curtain rather than an insect screen.
Get the top edge level before you fix anything. A screen hung out of true will not sit flat no matter how strong the magnets are. Work from the top across, then down each side, keeping the mesh under light tension. If a panel later tears, our repair tape patches it without taking the screen down.
If you are unsure which screen suits your opening, or it is an odd size, ask us first. We would rather answer two questions now than have you send a screen back.
